Each sealed glass ampoule contains 1.7 ml of a buffered aqueous fluid with known concentrations of analytes. The fluid is comprised of a buffer (Hepes), preservative (Proclin 300), a surfactant (Triton X-100), creatine (stabilizer of creatinine) and concentrations of glucose, urea nitrogen, sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, creatinine, pH, oxygen, and carbon dioxide.
